Born and raised Toronto, Felipe Velasquez has always been fascinated by art. He started drawing and painting at a young age and by the age of 20, he had already hosted his first few art shows. Driven by his curiosity, Felipe momentarily stepped away from the world of art to explore other interests and opportunities.
These opportunities included time spent working at Student’s Commission—a Canadian non-profit organization. In this role, Felipe worked with youth across the country, organizing conferences aimed at empowering them and equipping them with the knowledge and skills to succeed in the future. Such experiences cultivated Felipe’s passion for bringing together people from different backgrounds and tapping into the unique perspectives that they provide.
In fact, it was his interest in bringing people together coupled with his ever-present fascination with art that resulted in Felipe joining the Launchpad team. As a member advisor, Felipe brings together creatives within the space and helps foster an environment that encourages them to grow as artists as well as creative entrepreneurs.
Artistically, Felipe is always exploring the various mediums of art, and has recently been making concrete sculptures on top of canvases.
